Infantry: No.
Armor & Artillery: Sure

I'm sure there are females that can handle the job, the stress, & increased physical standards...but when it comes to personal hygiene, men and women have entirely different needs. Spending weeks in the field without showering, changing clothes, etc may be nothing for men...but it can be a health risk for women. Mission readiness is key, especially in a combat zone. When it comes to women with increased hygiene needs, which may lead to decreased readiness, it's simply not acceptable.

Special treatment in combat arms should not be allowed. Not everyone can do this job. It is dangerous to assume that only a certain type of person can do it and not others.Having the wrong type of person in this position causes death. It is too critical to limit your talent pool. I believe if you are an effective "operator" it does not matter if you are man or women or gay.It does not matter if you are black or white, citizen or not, Hispanic or Indian, if you can do the job and back up your teammates that is all that matters.period.
'nuff said.

I think that if we start with the goal of "national defense" and come to women serving in combat arms, I'm fine with it, but if we start with this equality stuff, I'd say disband the entire Defense Department, because they'll be too busy being "fair" and "politically correct" to ever learn how to defend anything anyway.
