We all know Hip Hop is a genre and culture, created by Black people, for Black people in the Bronx and is still today prodominently Black. Why is it that I am starting to seeing other races, such as Hispanic and Asians jump on the bandwagon??? I was just turning channels on my tv the other day and came accross what appeared to be some Korean "Hip Hop" video channel. The guy in this one video is all thugged out, wearing gold chains, in some escalade and even though I couldn't understand what he was saying, I could tell by his gestures he was trying to be a Korean version of 50 cent!! Hip Hop/ Rap is comprised of experiences of hood life and the struggles that a particular culture face. I don't think that should be imitated!!! Living in the hood and having to go through the lifestyle real is not something to be played around with!!!!

Ya'll can all say what you want, but deep inside, when it's all said and done, I'm only saying what you are thinking but don't have the guts to say! You know good damn well, some skinny Asian dude or Asain chicks living in Korea, don't know sh it about Hip Hop culture, don't know sh it about the fashion, the struggle, MC'in, DJ'in and what the game is all about. They are straight IMITATORS! If their music was all that, go out and buy it on 9/11 instead of Kanye or 50!!

What is that I hear.............?silence........... yeah cause ya'll know it's true!

Watching some Indian Rapper or some Hispanic rapper is like watching a freakin parody, like poking fun at the culture!

Umm yea blacks did create it but hispanics and whites where there too in the early stages...Especially Hispanics...Also hip hop music is an outlet for ghetto youth to express themselves...But not only ghetto youth but also anybody that has a point to make...well just to express what ever for real...I dont care if they are white, indian, or asia....As long as they represent the art pure and from their point of view...that cool...oyea and with some kinda skill too. nahmean

But I understand youre point about perps emulating hip hop wrong and in an exaggerated way. They dont have to have baggy clothing or a bunch of gold chains and ish...They should do them how their life is or was. I feel you on that. They should do them...like Eminem he didnt talk about the projects he talked about the trailer park...pretty much the same...lol But yea thats where he was from and what he relayed to the ppl.

Well, you know what they say, "imitation is the best form of flattery. " I do however, sort of , understand where you're coming from, especially using the "n" word (maybe that's taking things a little too far) and I too have come accross some of these Asian stations. It does seem like a parody...lol. BUT to them, it's not a parody, they are for real. Whether their message is "real" or not, we don't know. Bottom line, it's all about money and if they have an audience for it, than more power to them. They certainly have the right to "imitate" or as someone else put it, "put their own spin on it." EVERYTHING in the world is imitated. Even certain tv shows, reality shows, pop stars, etc... all other countries have their own "version" of everything the U.S. has. I don't really care what they do in other countries, I'm only interested in what goes on here in the U.S.

I've seen some Black, Asian, White and Mixed people that "imitate" Hip Hop Artist, yet the biggest hip hop head that I know happens to be a White 30 year old guy from Brooklyn. Music is not for a certain race.

heres the thing hip hop isnt only for black people, not all black people listen to it, and other cultures also listen to it.. yes alot of black people listen to it but that doesnt mean noone else can..thats like saying a black person can listen to country music. it doesnt make sense!! you want to know why others are "jumping on the bandwagon" its because music is international and if someone decides to listen to hip hop its their choice and decision not yours..so it really shouldnt be a big deal to you...Hip Hop isnt a race it does not mean black people only..its not written in stone!!
you really should think about what you say before you actually tell other people because this really doesnt make sense. if it really bothers you to see cultures actually mixing and getting along then you really have a problem.

THINK ABOUT IT!!!

what about black hip hop artist trying to imitate other races? Some use Italian "gangster" names or use asian culture. Just a thought. Music is a universal language to be shared to all.

Quit being ignorant

Music is worldwide. Rap music is not only a "black" thing its an Asian, White, or Latino thing. To call it an imitation shows your ignorance to the true meaning of music. Music is supposed to be shared no matter what the race is or where you are from. Its diverse and changing. Music comes in many ethnic varieties and to be intolerant of these varieties mean you don't know music. Are you calling Reggaeton an imitation? Rap is not always about "living in the hood" "ghetto life" it can be about anything you ignorant jerk.

You don't know music and you don't know hip hop and to ask such a ignorant, racist, and stupid question just shows that you are an immature, jealous, and backward individual.

Hip hop is not always about the "ghetto" it came from the ghetto but it is not always about the ghetto. Hip Hop is the music of many peoples not just ghetto living black people. There are German rappers, French rappers, Caribbean rappers, Mexican rappers, British rappers, East Indian rappers, Japanese rappers, Arab rappers, each and every one of them produce great music.

They are not jumping on the bandwagon. They are putting their spin on it. I applaud the internationalization of hip hop. That means its gaining a wider audience. More people enjoy it and become aware of it. You obviously do not know anything about hip hop to utter something so stupid it just shows your prejudiced ways.

Thats pretty racist what your saying. By you logic, black people should not do anything White, Hispanic, Asian.... people do... This is why a lot of people see black people to be the most racist, because you say that you should be equal, but as soon as another culture tries to appreciate what you have you get defensive and don't wanna share. You are trying to have you cake and eat it too, and thats very hypocritical of you.

....sorry, don't mean to stereotype, or offend anyone. I'm not speaking about all black people, just some, like this guy.

to each his own, im not gonna knock someone for listenin to hip hop, many styles come from hip hop..some people have a certain perception of hip hop artists (black arists) they think its cool to live a certain life because they've never been in those shoes....some rappers go through stuff growin up that some people could never imagine, thats why i can respect some of the artists who come from nothin and make themselves somethin....

Who Started This Gangster $hit: i dont think its fair for you to make one person on the internet the poster boy for ALL African-Americans..One persons comments on here do not speak for all of us and they certainly dont reflect all of our views
