They say that when you use a ouija board, you open the door to the other world and you may not be able to close it. Get rid of it immediately. You don't want spirits haunting you.

The easiest way to figure out if it is someone pushing the speller around, or if it is something else is to not touch it. You are all actually suppose to touch it once, and then empty your minds, once it starts to move, take your hands off and hover them over the speller, if it stops, someone is pushing it. If it still moves, it is not human, it is a spirit or a magnet that someone has up their sleeve. All the Ouija Boards I've used has all been faked. Try it, this is the best advice. Also, try a pencil and a piece of paper in an unusually cold room, you might be surprised at what you find.

i would be careful- they most certainly DO work, even if they may not work consistently. case in point: when i was in the 7th or 8th grade (can't remember exactly), my best friend had his annual big birthday party, and had received a ouija board from someone. he and i were too young to really know what it was, but his older brothers who were in high school at the time did know about it. to make a long story short, they pulled it out that evening and managed to contact some spirit who seemed to know quite a bit about them and the family in general. when they asked for the name, they received one, but i remember it being a strange name, sort of like a nickname. the next day, one of his brothers casually mentioned to his mother that they had actually contacted a spirit, and that the spirit said this and that, and knew this and that. their mother played along, thinking it was a joke, and asked if the spirit had introduced itself. when they told her the name, she turned completely pale- i'll never forget the expression on her face. it turns out that they had contacted her great grandmother, who had died when she was a child. the name the spirit had given was indeed a nickname, and it was the pet name that their mother and her sister had had for the great grandmother when they were kids! i remember it was a really big deal, because their mother made them throw the board away, and she had a priest come over and bless the house and everything- it was pretty wild, and i'll never forget that experience! today, as an adult, i don't even know that the ouija board is necessary if you want to communicate with spirits- maybe that experience was just a coincidence, and the spirit of the great grandmother would've communicated anyway if someone had ever tried. i am convinced that there is a spirit world (and probably many other worlds) that we are not aware of in our current state of existence- maybe these worlds simply coincide from time to time, thus enabling communication with "sprits", ouija board or not.

It is very dangerous to use a Ouija board when you don't know what you're doing. You are basically calling on any spirit that chooses to answer, and dark side spirits are more likely to answer than light. If it is his mother, you better consider yourselves lucky and let it go at that. If he's Catholic, it could even be Mother Mary, Jesus' mother. Or it could be a demon trying to pretend to be his mother in order to manipulate him.
Never, ever call up an entity when you do not know how to banish it. And if you don't even know who/what it is, you can't know how to banish it.

If you bought that ouija board at a garage sale maybe it doesn't work. Upgrade to a new one from spooks-R-Us, they even come with a warranty.
ouija boards don't really work anyways. I mean come on, it's a board for pete's sake.

OK, seriously... do people really still believe this is a legitimate way to commune with another world? if buying a twenty dollar piece of plastic and cardboard was really a valid way to do that kind of thing then people like me would have no reason to doubt the existence of a higher plane. it is a simple mind game. it works on people's superstitions and imagination. NOTHING MORE. the game was invented in a era of hippies and wacky drugs so of course it was easy to believe then.

What ever you do, don't burn it. It would just create more on of a problem for you and your boyfriend. DO not trust the spirits that come from the borad either. You need to get rid of it. Just please don't burn it. Do not use the board again. It is a very dangerous way of communicating to the spirit world. It can open a door that won't ever close again.

If you believe in reincarnation it is completely possible. i am personally sceptical of Ouija boards, but to each their own.
What question did you ask to get that answer?

Don't trust it! You never know the full deal when you use one. And I am in definate agreement that you should not burn it. That opens the can of worms for sure. They open doors that can't be closed. I wouldn't know how you should get rid of it. But that seems like the safest bet.
