He has had a live-in male companion since, what, the 1970's. Bernie. Actually, he married Bernie this past year I think it was.
I don't know about the bird. I suppose she flew the coup.
He has been making decent music since he began and still does.

Slightly gay - understatement! The man is blatently gay. He came out in 1976! He's had loads of songs since the 70's.
I guess that's why they call it the blues - 1983

Circle of life - 1994's The Lion King?
He spends alot of his time writing music for other people! I don't feel like dancing he co-wrote with the scissor sisters.

Elton John has always been gay. But you are right he did marry someone called rennee or something. I have always wondered what that was about. When i was young, it was said he was bi sexual. When the Aids virus first became known EJ suddenly got married, but where she came from and where she went is a mystery.
Never heard anything about her, only that he married her!
It was baffling then just as it is now!

He is way more than slightly gay, he's flamin for sure. He's probably been too busy being gay to make any good music, actually. I heard it takes up a lot of a body's time, although I'd rather not think about why or how.
