Sounds like razor burn to me. Lotion and shaving cream definently help, but if you are new to shaving, or are younger, your skin is very sensitive to shaving, resulting in razor burn. Also, it could be the type of razor you are using. I would reccomend something like Venus, or a razor with a thick soap tab on it. Be sure not to shave in one place for awhile either. Happy shaving! :)

Yes, that's razor burn. Avoid the lotion. Sometimes that can cause razor burn to appear even worse, and sting as well. Use some baby powder or corn starch next time. There are also several creams on the market that work well to help you avoid razor burn down below.

Sounds like razor bumps. I researched this after I had the same problem.

Razor bumps are created when hair curls and grows back into the skin. The body's immune system recognizes the hair as an intruder and attacks it, creating red, inflamed areas. These red bumps are susceptible to infection and can easily turn into barber's rash.

No, Those are shaving bumps. It happens when you dont use a clean razor or something.
You'll be fine, and they will go away.
Razor burn is when it hurts right after you shave, it like... really hurts, you could tell.
It also may be a combo of both.

Yes! Whew, especially if you are NOT using shaving cream. Try BikiniZone shave gel. It works good. It like softens the hair almost and makes it easier to shave off. Good luck!
