The best way to remove residue from stickers is with silicone furniture polish (eg Pledge or Mr Sheen or similar).

Peel off the sticker carefully & spray the sticky residue with polish, leave for 5 minutes & then rub residue away.

Many of the previous suggestions will just spread the glue everywhere & take ages to remove. I used to work in a bike dealers & this is what we did to get the stickers of new bikes from the factory.

Go to you local auto parts store and pick up a can of sticker remover. This is made specifically for removing sticker without damaging any paint or causing any type of burn or scratches that would accure using any other abrasive liquids. It's new so do it right so you won't regret it in the long run.

Most of the stickers I've encountered are under a few layers of top coat so you'd probably have to strip the tank and go from there. A heat gun is one way but you don't want to hold it on there too long, it'll burn the sticker and bike.

You can use the following products: Rubber Cement Thinner or Bestine (arts & crafts stores). "Goo Be Gone" (usually at Menard's, Lowe's, etc.). Be sure to read the labels & directions for any of the above. Don't have any of these? You could even try just hot dish-soapy water: Get a spongeful nice and soppy and "soak" them off. Hope that helps...Good luck.

Try rubbing the corner with a pencil rubber to dislodge it slightly without scratching the paintwork so you can pull it off with your fingers - Failing that get the supplier to do it, they stuck it on !!!

Try denatured alcohol and elbow grease. It works in removing airbag stickers from car sun visors.

I agree with rubbing alcohol. It gets anything off from permanent markers to, I guess, stickers. I use it to get sharpy off my arms.
