So i just re-formatted and installed windows xp. Now my sound doesn't work. I downloaded the driver from my computer manufacturers website. It installs then says something about going to the control panel to configure? what do i do?

click on the "setup" of that driver.. and then it will install.. you just keep clicking next till the end.

You might try going to your control panel and click on Sound. There are some 'tests' for sound there (click on the various sounds and see if you can hear something). You might have to just make sure that the laptop is using that driver by pointing to it. Do it all through the control panel. Also make sure that you downloaded the exact driver for your computer.... makes a difference.
