I have a 14 year old kid who plays baseball. but he refused to wear a protective cup. theres no father figure in his life. so im really not sure how to talk to him about the issue. but he needs to protect the "family jewels" right. how would other women talk to him about it?

My sons coach lined up the boys and tapped their cups with a bat before each practice or game. If they didn't have one on then they weren't allowed to play or practice. It is for their protection. Have the coach talk to him and if he still refuses they most likely won't allow him to play.

Ask the coach to talk to your son, or ask the coach to have one of the other kids on the team talk to your son.

Guys who have taken a hit in the jewels can explain it far better than any of us women :-))

Get the "cup" put it on Your head and ask him...Does this look funny?
wait for his yes or no answer
then say "Put this on Now or I'm wearing this like this to your game everytime you "don't" wear it."

My boy's play baseball as well and my husband coaches. He doesn't need one unless he is a catcher. I promise. I would however insist if he plays catcher.

Let him take a hit in his jewels and I bet he won't refuse to wear one anymore.

Tell him he has to wear the proper safety equipment or he can't play. He sounds like my daughter, if she were teenaged. Good luck!
