A varicocele is a small plexus of varicose veins around the spermatic cord, and there is a feeling of small lumps in the scrotum when palpated.

Varicocele is statistically associated with decreased fertility. The assumption that the condition leads to increased temperature of the testicles. The theory is disputed.

Testicular varicocele is only a possible cause as there are no conclusive studies linking the two of them. A varicocele is just a dilation of the testicular blood vessels most commonly secondary to defective valves within the veins. They do not normally cause pain. The only side effect that you would be worried about would be testicular atrophy (shrinkage) which would only occur if the varicocele impairs the flow of blood away from the testicle (uncommon). Surgeries to repair this are not normally extensive and you should only be out of commission for a few days, no longer than a week at the latest. As an aside, the sex drive is not affected by having a varicocele unless you psych yourself out by worrying about it. Overall they normally don't cause problems and when they do fixing them is simple.

I've attached an article if you'd like to know more. I hope this helps.
