They all have 7 electrons in their outer shell and form an ion with a -1 charge.

More specifically, they have 2 electrons in the s orbital and 5 electrons in the p orbital of their respective energy level

All elemens have 7 electrons as their valence electrons, and they tend to form -1 ions.

They also have electron configuration with p orbitals as the last orbitals that filled by 5 electrons.
