The American accent does 'stick out' as you say , but not in the least to it's detriment !!! It has a unique resounding melody that sings through the air to cut a swathing pathway that tunnels a breeze to the ears. You can almost see the air swirl as an American speaks as each vowel and consonant floats though it............Our English accent at times has an authoritative sneering acquiescence that instantly makes you feel insignificant.
