The most dominant view posed by those whom responded to my questions regarding abortion, expressed the opinion that they don't care if an abortion terminates a human life. They place more value on the "rights" of a mother to do whatever she desires with her "body."

Do you believe that we have lost the significance of the value of human life these days??????

I agree with you ONE HUNDRED PERCENT. I'm pro-life not because im some crazy religious bible-thumper, but because each abortion we allow in this country lessens the value of human life.

in response to the few people who answered above me: It is true that abortion went on before, but legalizing it and making it readily available is OBVIOUSLY going to increase the amount of abortions in this country. Once we accept this into society, there is no arguing that the value of life (whether the liberals want to label it 'human' yet or not) drops significantly. When the next generations are born into a world where abortion is part of life, they're not going to see it as the disgusting thing it is.

as for convicted murderers on death row, they are CONVICTED of committing terrible crimes. A fetus has done nothing wrong. And if youre going to come back with the genius liberal argument "what if someone's really innocent" let me fill you in: Maybe .1% of people on death row are innocent, while 100% unborn children are innocent. Do you like those odds?

"why don't anti-abortion people try to make less women want/need abortions? do these people think the problem is really the abortion itself and not the reasons behind it? "

sorry i just simply cannot resist commenting on Wolf as well. You really think you can pin that on US? haha, youve got to be insane. Abortion ITSELF is a cop-out to the 'bigger issue'. Perhaps if we didnt make abortions so easy to get, people would start to think twice about their actions.
Until then, at least we are trying to reduce the need for abortion. If I recall correctly, its the liberals who are all in favor of passing out condoms in high schools. "Hey, if you can't stop 'em, might as well keep 'em safe!" right? hah. Your ignorance baffles me.

Why is the same people who scream and hollar for the life of some crack babie to some crack whore. Or maybe someone who is brain dead that the machines might be shut off.
But think nothing of killing thousands of young men with their full capacity right out of high school before they even have a chance to know what is going on in the world.
What are your priorities? Sure the life of a baby is precious.
No one argues that but what kind of mother to what kind of life would this child grow up in if the mother hated the baby so much she wanted to kill it but was prevented? Wouldn't it be a kindness to do it while it was still the size of a quarter?
These same people in a survey had a IUD. Which does not keep the ovum from being fertilized but will not let it implant in the uterus so it is aborted every month. While they have an abortion every month but it is convient they don't allow it to others who forgot to put in the IUD.

No, I don't think we've lost that. I don't believe that anyone responded to your previous questions by saying "they don't care if an abortion terminates a human life." It sounds like you are using a very creative interpretation of what they really said. I've never known anyone who is pro-choice to put their beliefs in that way. They don't believe it IS a life yet, that's why they support the woman's right to choose. It seems to me that you may have a skewed idea of what those who are pro-choice really do believe, or you think it's okay to twist it to make it sound as horrific as possible.

EDIT: I shouldn't say nobody pro-choice would EVER say that, that's overgeneralizing. There's probably a person here or there who does feel that way, but it is not the predominant feeling of pro-choicers by any means. Just wanted to clarify.

You act as though you don't realize that abortion went on before it was legalized. Abortion has gone on for eons, it just wasn't legal! For most women who have abortions; it is a last resort. A choice not taken lightly, as you imply. I guess you would rather see it done by a dirty old man/woman in a dirty room where the chances of the woman dieing would be her just reward for having done such a thing! By the way, how many adopted children do you have or are you running a foster home to care for some of the unwanted children that you insist that others must have in spite of their ability to care for them or their desire for them? I believe that if a woman makes such a decision, she should be given as much of a chance to live as the person who brings kids into this world & doesn't care for them, mistreats them or outright kills them. Keep it legal! It's not as easy to get an abortion as you think.

no, we're worrying about that female's life and the life of others.
injustice anywhere threatens justice everywhere. if we let the gov make one medical choice illegal or only legal under their say so, then we risk letting them criminalize/limit other medical procedures.

I don't think life begins at conception for a number of reasons and I think elective abortion is immoral, but I'd never tell another person what to do with their body or risk them getting it done in an unsafe setting.

why don't anti-abortion people try to make less women want/need abortions? do these people think the problem is really the abortion itself and not the reasons behind it?

I think your definition of civilized needs revising. You don't like abortion, but you apprently have no issue with killing people in wars or terminating prisoner's lives when they're on death row. Maybe you should take a look and see how violent our society is before you label it "civilized".

Also, the view that it's a life is also your own. There are people in this world who like the separation of church and state, whether you like it or not. This includes making laws based on religious views.

The next new question is to see how long one must be able to kept alive to be worth it.

I see people every day talking about medical care for CHILDREN.....but not a peep for those who have already given it all.

Who's worth more.....a brain dead child or an aging adult?
\Funny how some people don't care if they kill off an old person but they claim to give it all to a child.

Human life....is human life.

We have people making decisions daily as to whether or not they can care for people. People are choosing whether to abort a child or kill and old person. Marry or divorce them? Pull the plug or not. At both ends of the scale.

How far are you willing to go for a life that is already here....when you KNOW people die?

Most of the people I've met that say these things...aren't parents or delt with anything.

Where is quality of life? You might be out there fighting for the right for a sick infant to grow up being abused and neglected. Wow.ya...you win...you all on your own paved the way for a kid to be used and abused. Your fight for life doesn't end at BIRTH.

Realize that please. Your right to life doesn't end at birth. Heck fire....we can all get pregnant and birth babies....what's next? If you can't personally fund it.....then shut up. Right to life means we take the funds from OLD people to FUND it? People who were already birthed....spent their life here....and now they are nothing coz they are old? Human life? Value human life...when? Beginning, middle end?

If you truely VALUE life....then you value it at both ends. YOU fund it at both ends.

Old people do fill out papers and do the right to die or don't keep me alive with excessive means when it's over. Most old people want to just die with dignaty in not in pain. Same as most new parents would hope for thier infant. Humans...for the most part don't want suffering and pain.

I have to ask whether you value a few impulses over what is real life? Buttons and buzzes don't mean life either.

Hate to be rude....but I bet....if it was your great-grandma on the end of the wire....no hope left....you would pull the plug on her. Civilization doesn't mean keeping life going at any cost. Hey...they shoot suffering animals. What is human life or what does Love mean when you just keep them going for your personal satisfaction?

Well, I think that's a rather narrow view. Most people do care, but they define life differently than you do. A cluster of cells is not human until it has a brain stem and nervous system. Until it can feel things - fear, pain, comfort, warmth - it is less human than a fully formed mouse.

No we haven' t lost sight of what is important. If all the people that scream "No abortions" I say commit yourself to adopt that child and raise it! Better than some drug addicted mother selling/killing/hurting the child. All those that don't want abortions do nothing but scream.

Absolutely we have. Capital punishment ends life too, but you find most pro-lifers have no problem playing God in that instance. Regardless of the circumstance, when you put life in someone's hands, that's playing God, and it's hypocritical to deem one instance as acceptable over another.
