Although Mitt Romney's comment about his sons showing their support by helping him with his campaign was stupid, you show an even greater blindness than he.
And I find this most amusing considering that your profile states you are a veteran thus should know much more about the military than me, a Canadian who has never served any military in any form (nor will I).
So, let me, the non American non veteran, explain something to the American veteran about the US military.
It a volunteer force!
What that means is that people who are the age of majority can choose, of their own free will, whether to sign up. That being the case, who their father is is irrelevant. What a presidential candidate's son or sons do with their lives is irrelevant to their father's campaign. Heck, even a candidate's own military service (or lack thereof) is irrelevant (see Bush) unless, of course, they decide to make it a part of their campaign (see Kerry).
Its the typical chickenhawk argument that was infamously manifested by Moore in his documentary when he pestered senators about their children (and included a senator who didn't even have kids and excluded a senator who did have kids in the military).
If Romney were smart, he'd respond to stupid questions about his son's military service by saying "What the F___ does it matter?!" but that would be unseemly for a Mormon to curse like that.

Why should anyone's sons or daughters fight any war ? It is a shame when war is made and all Americans see their kids go off to war. I firmly believe Mitt Romney aims for Peace. Yes, it would be Great , if any Parent would not have to say Good-bye, to their precious grown children.

It is great to know that!! Know why? Because in the good Ol' U. S. of A. we have an all volunteer Military. No one can be forced to do anything they don't want to do (save paying taxes of course). I say good for them for exercising their rights.
Machiavelli and Sun Tzu both taught us that conscripts make horrible Armies.

I didn't know that he had 5 sons, but I should have suspected it ( ha ha). They'll probably all be on some sort of mission for their church, don't you think? Believe me,the LDS faithful are kept very busy from morning to night. Next to their "Support the Troops" stickers I'm sure they have one saying "CTR" meaning in Mormon-ese "Choose the Right." Which of course Romney has done. The political right, that is!

Why do they have to? I mean Romney is for the war but who said his sons are? And just cause you are in agreement with the war doesn't mean you drop everything and go fight. Why are those against the war unable to understand this?

Hey I don't knock anyone for not wanting to be a soldier. It is not for everyone and I believe even with an all volunteer military that people that should not be soldiers are.
I didn't hold it against Clinton and I won't hold it against Romney's sons.

I think everyone able to should have to serve in the military. It should be our duty as citizens.
And anyway, Romney's a Mormon. He'll never win the presidency. I don't even pay attention to him.

You can support a war without fighting it. I want to know why Bush isn't spending more money on our veterans.

Maybe so.
I wonder if they are acting like Democrats?
You never catch a liberal in the Military.....And very very few Democrats.
That's why Gore sued to Not Count the Military Vote in Florida. Because there were only a couple of Democrats in the Military.
Cool!!!!
