Two Fools and a Sheep
“Jerry? HELLO, THIS IS ME, John. Is that you, because I’m in trouble again?”
“Where are you and what’s wrong?”
“I fell in a bog hole on top of BLIND MAN’S BLUFF.”
“You’re where, not BLIND MAN’S BLUFF?” Jerry asked while answering back.
“YES I AM but FEAR NOT because the sheep is with me too but I can’t hold it up and me in this bog hole. I need your help now before someone comes and catches me.”
“What sheep John? You didn’t really take one?”
“Well sure I did. How else were we going to have mutton stew tonight?”
“I’m on my way,” Jerry sighed, shaking his head, but it shook even more as he bust out laughing when he saw John up to his waist in bog holding a fat sheep out of the mud.
“Ah Jerry, you are a good friend. HOPE FLOWS MY HEART always knowing you are around. Now get me out of here.
Imagination can only describe the scene that took place getting the two out of the bog and home again.
After the last mouthful of stew Jerry looked at John and said, “We got to stop going ABOVE THE LAW. One of these days we are going to get caught.”
“Yeah Jerry, I agree. So next week we’ll just steal a pig for the heck of it O.K.?”
Jerry nodded yes and asked, “Then we’ll stop?”
John smirked, “Sure thing Jerry.”
But some fools never quit.

My eyes were filled with tears. I was sick of everything and I just wanted to go home. It had been weeks since I had last seen my family. Sure, there was that time when my friend came to find me, but I still felt alone. Running away wasn't what I had hoped.
I sat in the woods for awhile before I finally stopped crying long enough to see the journal. I had taken it from my mom's room the night before I left. It had a brown leather cover and a fountain pen attached to the side. I gave one last sniff and picked it off the wet ground. For the first time in weeks, I wrote.
"Hello, this is me. Yes, the girl who ran away and expected all of her problems to disappear. I've learned quite a bit since then. Fear not, I still remember how to get home. I should be back soon. I miss everyone there. Yes, I am still torn apart by what happened, but we can work through it together. Hope floats my heart that we can make it through.
Love, Rachel"
It seemed like a letter, but I guess it wasn't to anyone in particular. I just needed something to explain the choice I had made. For so long, I felt like I was above the law. No one could catch me, and no one cared about what I did. To give it all up and go home seemed...unreal. I wasn't even sure if they would let me back. Maybe they would still be mad at me from the fight we had. Maybe they were sick of having to lecture me and having to "try to understand." All I knew is that I was going to try. I might even have to pull a blind man's bluff and say that I was sorry, but I was going home. And that was all that really mattered.

Okay, so the story was a little dark, and some of the phrases were a stretch, but I hope you like it.

Sarge,
Hello, this is me...Touche. Fear not. I am in on this one. Oh yes, I am. Hope floats my heart, as I wrestle in this open arena. There are so many of you out here...inspiring me on a daily basis, and I thank you for that. Sunshine, Whitiepossum, and Guinness to name a few.
However, Touche is not above the law. She's just a willing participant. It's no blind man's bluff...
It's your call, Sarge!
Another Short Story by Touche.
Kisses.

Hello, this is me, standing in the shadow of you, searching for the true light, but fear not, I'm on my way. Yes I am treading water , the water of my soul, but hope floats my heart closer and closer to the very center of the universe, above the law of man and nature, to fulfill a blind man's bluff, and see the light that can not be seen through the eyes, but through the window of your soul.

“I’m young, famous, and rich and I don’t have to listen to anyone! You’re my lawyer - get me out of these ridiculous charges! No, I am not above the law, but what good is being rich and famous if you can’t buy your way out of trouble? Just do it or you’re fired!”
Throwing the phone against the pristine white wall she stomped out to the pool. Her attorney had said to fear not, that she wouldn’t have to spend any time in rehab or jail, but she wasn’t so sure anymore. Yes I am rich and famous, she reassured herself, but lately the game of blind man’s bluff she had been playing with all those paparazzi had been making her look very, very bad. What if she had to go to jail? How could she stand being with all those filthy creatures there?
The cell phone next to her insisted on her attention.
“Hello, this is me. Party you say? I will be there!”
I’m young, famous, and rich. Hope floats my heart, but cold hard cash moves the world.
