Pro-advocates often say that we have no right to tell a woman what to do with their body. Allthough this is true, I consider it a red herring. The question is, "Is it a life?" If it is, it should be protected no matter what the mother says. If not, it has the value of a scab or a removed tumor.
So which is it????

Why do you think this is a religious question? Its a question about the value of life and apperanty many attribute very little value to life...so sad.

This question is very easy to answer by watching the 'Silent Scream' video:
http://www.silentscream.org/
Very few people have the courage to watch it. The pro-choicers who have a conscience immediately become pro-life.

if it's done early then it's ok. Any later then the first trimester then it is not. It's not ok to tell someone what they can and cannot do with their body. And it can be a danger to the mother in many situations where she could die if she has a baby and they have to abort. Also pro-life people aren't carrying the baby, feeding the baby, paying for the baby, and helping with the baby. So if they don't belive in it then they shouldn't do it. But it's not their right to tell others what to do. If the mother is very early in the pregnancy and she feels that is the right option for her and her family then that is her right and descision. And when abortion is illigal people go to back ally ways and have them illigally and are ealisy killed that way. It's more complicated then "I'm pregnant so I'll get an abortion now." There are many variables and people should respect eachother.

Hmm...
Well, it /is/ the woman's body, not the pro-lifer's. If it were the pro-lifer's I wouldn't have anything to say. But a woman's got a right to choose what is best for her in the long run. Too many children are already born by people who have parents who won't allow them to get abortions. Then they wind up in adoption centers and there aren't enough people who can or will adopt.
The question is not whether the fetus is "alive" per se, but whether it is "concious" and can feel pain.
I don't think abortion should be outlawed because there are too many unseen circumstances where the life of the mother is endangered by carrying a child to term. If they're unable to get this procedure done, then there will be more childbirth related deaths.
Edit: I've also noticed that many of the people who are more vocal on this issue are men- so they've never been in this sort of situation and never will be.
I know there are women who are against abortion, but I'm just sayin'.
At trythisagain: I've watched. I still stand firmly in my beliefs. And I still have a conscience.

Abortion has effects. a number of them, arguably, are good effects (e.g., greater economic protection for the parent(s), or the potential to handle a duty for which one feels psychologically and bodily unready). There are undesirable effects, too. the undertaking, nevertheless, is that "effects" are in many situations the grounds upon which abortion is defended or attacked. not often will you come across somebody protecting abortion on the muse of the act itself, and it extremely is purely somewhat greater undemanding for somebody to attack it on that floor. Abortion isn't unique in this regard; torture is yet another occasion the place the two its combatants and proponents cite the *effects* of the act greater suitable than the act itself. The U.S. incinerated 1000's of jap adult males, women, and childrens on the tip of WWII thinking the indisputable fact that failing to achieve this could have dire *effects* (consequently, the possibly prolongation of a painful war). Consequentialism is the only thread that ties the two the yank Left and the yank acceptable jointly. i've got individually had adequate of it. Do the acceptable factor, effects be damned. it fairly is the mentality human beings could have in direction of being pregnant and abortion. I even have my very very own opinion approximately abortion, yet until eventually absolutely everyone seems to be prepared to talk the character of the act itself, and how it pertains to our nature, any argument would be stillborn. absolutely everyone seems to be too busy weighing "effects" to look on the undertaking objectively. do no longer do evil to evade evil, and don't do evil that good could come of it. do purely no longer. I am strongly against legislating morality. Abortion, gay etc. is no ones business except the person having the experience. It is not for any of us to decide if it is life. That is between God and the person involved. You cannot play God in another persons life. This abortion argument is comparable to is a gay person born that way or is it choice. It isn't any of our business. It is none of our business if a woman chooses to stop the embryo from being a life. Also you stated it as pro-abortion. No one is pro-abortion. They are for the right of decision. Two different things.

How many unborn womens rights have been violated by abortion.
A women has the right to choose, choose to abstain, choose to use birth control or what ever, once conceived if allowed to progress will become a human being and should have all the rights you or I do. Where should the line be drawn, I have heard the argument that it is ok to abort a baby when they could not be viable outside the womb, but you know what, even a new born is not viable outside the womb with out help

Under certain circumstances, I believe it doesn't matter. I don't believe in abortion as a means of birth control, but what about rape? If your 13 year old daughter was brutally raped, would you make her have her rapist's child? Also, if a drug user was pregnant and refused to quit drugs, would you really want an innocent child born with all the health issues it would create? Or worse, would you want to hear about a newborn baby being dumped in a dumpster? There is just too much to take into consideration.

It is life. Ever see an ultrasound 3 months into a preganacy ? You can hear a heartbeat and see the outlines of a child. That is life.
Pro abortionists say it is her body, yet the government tells us all the time what we can and cannot do with our bodies. Prostitution is illegal, as is suicide. That argument fails.
I am as staunch pro-life as you can get. I do understand however that abortion cannot be illegal. Talk to women who have had second or later trimester miscarriages. Rape is another story.
My attitude is it should not be available as contraception. Females need to learn that sex is a responsibility. Americans learn this and abortions would all but vanish.

It is a choice, but the mother should be fully aware of what they are actually doing and view an ultrasound of what is being removed from their body. You can't even tell the pro-choicers this because they get offended no matter what. You also can't tell a pro-lifer that it is a choice at all or they get offended.
I think there is a middle ground called Pro-truth.
Anyone who gets an abortion for the right reasons (rape, incest, birth defects, or potential danger to the mother) should not have to be ashamed of it or criticized for it. Truth be known, then it is okay.
Anyone who gets an abortion for convenience should have to face there decision head on and forced to view the ultrasound. Truth be known, and some of them would never do it, so they don't want to know the truth.

When they will do abortion on a women that baby is not formed and women should have a choice to do with body as she pleases. But, the men have that choice all the way, so you start using birth control or keep that zipper zipped up because your the only one that has the sperm to plant that seed, without you and if you would practice safe sex and use a form of birth control we women wouldn't have to have a abortion. It all falls on the men and you have that choice so use it.
