Elizabethian Peasent Costume?

Question

I am to be attending a Rennasence festival. I am a girl and I went last year and loved it. I wanted to dress up this year I was wondering if anyone had a way to make a very simple costume. Please help me.

You should probably wear a bodice but they are fairly difficult to make if you don't know or are not very good at sewing. You can get patterns for the entire outfit -skirt, blouse and bodice at a sewing store (joanns, hancock's, or even walmart). I think it's simplicity or maybe butterick who has a whole line of patterns just for ren faires. One pattern has 4 skirt patterns, same for the bodice pattern. However, if you aren't in a mood to sew, you can go to a site like Museum Replicas and buy an outfit somewhat cheap. You can compare the price of the "off-the-rack" garb to what the material + effort would cost and see which works best for you. Maybe get the "off-the-rack" one this year and work on making more garb that you can mix'n'match pieces and give you variety. Have fun!

PS - Sewing garb is a lot of fun. I have graduated to making full court dresses as a hobby and love the Ren Faire!
