It's almost the anniversary of that fateful day.

I was getting ready for school. It was still early and I was just barely awake. At first I thought it was an ad for a movie being played on multiple channels at the same time. I thought it was awfully funny that all of the stations were playing it (we only got basic TV through rabbit ears). As I became more awake, I thought that the buildings being attacked were in another country.

When I got to school I was hit with the reality when the teachers started talking to us about it.

What's your story?

I was doing the same. I was at school at the time, so you and I are on different times zones and our t'v's came on by themselfs. For a moment we all sat in silence. Then I cried. It was horrible. My teacher screamed. Her sister had called her minutes before (about 3), she was on the 13th floor on one of the buildings and was having an interview. My teacher picked her phone to call her sister. No answer. and turns out, she'd never answer her phone again. I couldn't contain myself, and I didn't know why. No one I knew died, I guess when your fellow americans die.... no loss is greater. I still cry today. I'm not even 20 yet. I cry for the troops, for 9/11 and those who stand up for what's right... even tho others can't see anything but themselfs. I believe..... in red, white and blue.

I was asleep when the first plane hit. I woke up just afterwards and watched on television as the second plane hit. I was terrified. I thought the world was ending. I was glued to the tv all day. I left to go to the grocery store and everyone I met was in a daze. They had no idea what to do or think. I still can't believe it happened. I can't believe that there wasn't more that could have been done to stop it.
I feel sorry for all the lives lost and all those who had to continue living without loved ones. I hope nothing like this ever happens again.

I was working at a college bookstore distributor warehouse and didn't catch word of it until about 30 minutes after the first plane crashed into one of the towers. We all crowded into the break room and watched in horror at the live coverage. Got sent home early from work since the local FAA building was next door.

I was with hubby in his 18 wheeler in Lincoln, Illinois getting ready to leave when he heard on the CB radio about this. I went to the TV and watched in horror about what had happend and I actully stayed in the bunk watching as the second tower was struck and later saw them both fall. I cried my eyes out and still trying to get over the horror of such a thing that happened in our country.

I was watching Good Morning America, while getting ready to go to work! Like many people, I thought the first plane crashing into the first tower was an accident.

At work. My boss came and told us what had happened and none of us could believe it. I just sat and cried for all of those who lost their lives. It was a very sad day in America.
