That's because you never accepted it the first time.
He said, quite clearly, that the war on terror is going to be a 'long, drawn out, bloody affair' that will probably 'last generations'. He was correct. When he said it, 99% of the nation said: 'Go for it' "Go get 'em George". He also said: "It is not a matter of IF we will be attacked again, it's a matter of WHEN". We can only hope that he continues to be wrong about that.
Yet you keep asking: 'When is it going to end?'
You keep saying that he promised this would be a quick in and out walk through the park.
He never said that, EVER. He said unambiguously from the very beginning that this would try the patience of the American people every day. He said there would be many, many casualties and that the public would have to make sacrifices.
You had your hands over your ears and your eyes closed and screamed: 'LA LA LA LA LA" so you didn't hear it, because you don't want to hear it.
So you keep asking: "When will it end" "Why won't you end it" yet you have no idea how. You just want it.
Pick your poison: Be patient or surrender. Which is it?

are you talking about the invasion of Afghanistan, Iraq ? I believe all of WW 2 has taken less than 4 years that's pretty fast by to days standards

All of WWII took longer depending on how you figure the start date. If you mean American forces actively engaged in combat, you are close. If you mean the fighting in general and our material support of our Allies, you are off some.WWII brewed for a number of years and fighting started in 1939 and we were actively engaged in clean up , Police action. rebuilding. and off course Berlin, for alot of years. Matter of fact, we're still in Germany. Guess that makes our involvement there about 65 years.

Know what the problem is with kids these days? They don't understand patience. They want everything YESTERDAY! With maturity comes wisdom, understanding and patience. Rome was not built in a day. And I am truly sorry that I/we did our jobs so incredibly well (Grenada, Panama, Desert Storm), seems we've spoiled the kids rotten. Sometimes things worth fighting for take time. And what's even sadder is that you know not what the fighting is all about or its worth.

Every time he opens his mouth about Iraq, he went to Iraq on his way to the summit meeting , took Old Petreaus his speech to make before Congress . All is just a pack of lies Bush lies, I'm sick and tired of all this bunch of nothings keeping our troops in Iraq just to be slaughtered. Bush needs to be taken out and horse whipped , we need to just put him aside and order our troops home, I despise him and all his whole sidekicks, what a bunch of trash.

He's used that phrase to make vague statements too many times.
I've stopped listening to his speeches becuase they rarely have any kind of date in them. I think it would be more effective for him to stop using those words to stall. Maybe he needs someone different to write his speeches for once.

Wow it is easy to sit there in your comfy computer chair and keep bitching about the pres. I say lets reinstate the draft and see how you like living in 110 deg heat, very large spiders and snakes, and oh yea a crazy bastard with an ak-47 or RPG that would love to see you die and then drag your body through the streets! I didn't think so, just keep protesting and hope your day never comes!
