Here's something to consider. Hasselbeck is a 'never was'. At best he is a mediocre passer. His receiver corps is mediocre too. Can you name 2 of their wide receivers without looking them up ? OK, go look them up. They have Alexander, an outstanding running back. Will their game plan be to pass ? I don't know. You figure it out.
Roethlisberger had an injury filled season last year. He is hoping to rebound. When healthy, he threw the ball almost as often as he ran it. True, they are away but they play at CLEV where they have played countless times. So the home field advantage may be neutralized somewhat. Roethlisberger is going vs the CLEV defense. Hasselbeck vs TB. Whose 'D' is better do you think ? That may be the determining factor in who you pick.
But the key is it's YOUR PICK. Why would you ask a bunch of people you don't know who probably don't give a damn about your fantasy team and many of which are morons ? And you want to trust your 1st week in the league to them ?
The fun in this league is that you get a chance to make decisions, to make moves to improve your team, to analyze matchups, to follow injuries, to look for players overlooked by the others, etc. And you want strangers to do this for you ? Why even play ? I got news for you - it's NOT to win. C'mon, get with it.
There were a whole bunch of questions submitted before the Thurs nite game. Many were about Brees. Almost every single one advised the writer to play Brees. Look how that ended up.

hasselbeck.
seattle...pittsburgh still might need a llittle more time getting used to the new coaching system.
pittsburgh has a pretty easy matchup this week, but hasselbeck has been consistent, while roethlisberger is not a sure choice yet. he hasnt proven that he is the same guy he used to following his motorcycle crash. until he starts to put up better numbers, i'd start hasselbeck

I see everyone is trying to tell you to start Hasselbeck.
Before you do, remember this.
Pittsburgh has adjusted their offense this year to incorporate more 4 and 5 receiver sets.
New head coach.
And, they are playing Cleveland.
Hasselbeck is a very solid QB, but is Deon Branch the same type target as Ward is for Roethlisberger?
Seattle is up against Tampa Bay defense.
To be honest with you, you probably are safe playing either one.
Myself, if I were in your shoes, I would start Roethlisberger.
He is playing a weak defense in a rivalry game with the Browns.
And, he is eager to prove himself the QB he was in the Super Bowl, not the sorry one he was last season.
Good luck.

Matt Hasselbeck. Pittsburgh's strategy will be as it always is. Run, run, run all over the Browns. Seattle's passing game should have no trouble with the Bucs aging defense AND they are at home. Defintely go with Hasselbeck.

I like hasselbeck better. Rothlisberger is really good too, but hasselbeck has a lil sumthing extra to bring to the game.

I'd say Bign Ben. They are installing a more spread offense in order to open up running lanes for Fast Willie. & b/c it is the first game they will probably be experimenting w/it & passing alot + the Browns D is worse then Tampa's D
