becuase the earth spins....and in the night time we are facing the oppistie side of the sun. so the sun doesnt really "come up" or "go down". we just arent facing it. and we need night time. how are you supposed to sleep when it seems like its in the middle of the day. the human body is so used to shutting down at night that no one would be able to function properly. and there are so many nocturnal (tht means they come out at night) animals that feed at night and its easier for them to run from preditors at night. such as owls. we wouldnt have owls if it was always light out. and we would never see any stars but the sun (yes the sun is a big star). just keep thinking about tht.

Earth orbits the Sun once for every roughly 366.26 times it rotates about its axis This length of time is a sidereal year, which is equal to 365.26 solar days The Earth's axis of rotation is tilted 23.5° away from the perpendicular to its orbital plane, producing seasonal variations on the planet's surface with a period of one tropical year

the answer to your question is this

if it is night at your location then the sun is shining at the otherside of the earth therefore it is daylight also at the otherside of the earth and this is because of the earths rotation around the sun + earths axis

Unfortuantly if the sun did that it would contradict itself.

The fact that the sun goes away makes the air colder and darker.

Bringing it back during the night would just be considered as the morning, and no longer the night.

Hope this makes sense.

that is a good Q in a way.
well the sun is not out because the moon is out,the sun comes out in the day for heat/light.
I dont know why God made night cold.cooler than day anyway.maybe its to clear the air.some good scientific answers here, its all amazing.

Because if it did, the other three hemispheres on earth would freeze to death from lack of light and warmth.
If it did as you wonder, it would require that the same face of the earth face it all the time. If so,, out rotation would cease, and we would all fall into the sun from lack of centrifugal force.

Because night is defined as the time when the sun is not present. So if the sun is there, then it isn't night. I'm guessing you know this already.

Well it does. It is night at this moment but the sun is out somewhere in the world

Because this planet is in orbit around the sun and, for some reason that physicists think they have solved already, gravity has let us have a little "spin," if you will.

The question is too silly to merit an answer.

Because the sun makes day. if that happened, night would be day and day would be night. You'd really be mixed up!
LOL
