My grandmother made a cereal dish for us. You cook rice and then add milk and sugar. Anyone ever heard of this? I wasn't crazy about it.

Yes, it is better with spice ... nutmeg and real maple syrup instead of sugar. It is best made with whole grain brown rice and yukky made with instant rice.

It was something different for a cold Saturday morning after having oatmeal of cream of wheat on the weekdays.

Yes I have heard of this. But I find it rather bland. And I love rice. Also adding cinnamon and raisins, sort of like a bread pudding. I will pass on this one.

My mom used to make that for us when we were sick. She added cinnamon to it. I liked it. It was better than "milk toast", a disgusting bowl of milk with a piece of toast in it which was also another "medicinal" meal.

Yes, I like it. I make that sometimes.
If you put a little Cinnamon in it, and warm it
in the microwave, it's even better.
