The story of odysseus has been used again and again, not only in literature, but in all sorts of popular culture. It was copied by the Romans in the Aeneid. It was used as a basis for James joyce's Ulysses. It is referenced in O Brother Where Art thou. Many modern fiction novels have taken up the story, one even saying that Odysseus never died and still lives in modern times. And of course, any story like Cold Mountain, which involves a long trek home to a loved one has obvious associations with the myth.

That criticism of literature must be backed up by, or in conflict with, other critic's cited critical papers or articles in order for a critical paper or article to be legitimate.
It even reads as convoluted as many Myth.
