As a coin collector I have sets of Luxembourg euros (from 2002 onwards) and I would like to find a set of Luxembourg francs. Was there a 2001 set or before? Also any ideas about where I can buy a set?

Like the French franc, the Belgian/Luxemburgese franc ceased to exist in January 1, 1999, when it became fixed at 1 EUR= 40.3399 BEF/LUF. I would guess that they stopped minting them in 1998.
My son just came home from 2 years in eastern France/western Switzerland. He said it was very difficult to find any old coinage. Sorry I'm not much help there.

The last listing I have for the Franc is 1995. They also made a 1995 4 piece mint set. I doubt you will find a complete set of the 1 Franc coin unless you go there. They started in 1924 and were minted to 1995 off and on. They are not a common collectors item in the U.S. so you will just have to use google and look for world coin dealers and check their stock.

Here's an older set for $4.50

(Search on "Luxembourg" -- the set is half way down the page.)
