I don't really have a favorite. I don't like to play favorites. I can tell you for a fact, though, that fantasy 'n science-fiction are probably the 2 most popular reads out there. I read fantasy books, even though I must admit I don't read much.
I know several other people who read nothing but fantasy. Some also read science-fiction. I can tell for a fact that if it's at least a decent write 'n it's fantasy, then people will read 'n they will recommend it.
Luck in your writing.

My favorite genre is historical fiction, like the stories of the families traveling west on the Oregon trail. Many people love fantasy and will love reading your novel if it is well written. The Chronicles of Narnia, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and many other fantasy stories are very popular and continually read so fantasy is a very viable genre. Go for it! And good luck.

I am a fantasy fan myself, but there are so many fantasy books out there that they all just become one blurred mass. Well, those that have the medieval fantasy setting to it, mostly. Most people these days usually go for modern fantasy genre. I mean, just look at Anne Rice's books. Then again, there are exceptions, and whatever your book would be about, there are always chances that you could make it or break it.

my favorite genre is (i am not sure what its really called, but i read) realistic stuff. i will read just about anything that gets my attention though, including fantasy. I definately think ur book will be read, just write the best u can 7 give it all u have. Make sure that it is attention taking and the reader never wants to put it down, so make it non stop adventure, drama, comedy, or anything. Also, Make sure you have a great illustrator. Even though ur not supposed to judge a book by it's cover, many and most people do. Otherwise it will sell by word of mouth. ( i think thats what its called.)
Good Luck!!!!!! : )

I am a poet. I like to read and write lyrical rhyming poetry. I also like non rhyming when it's good. I love to read fantasy stories. Regular fiction is sometimes boring to the point I don't finish, but with fantasy, anything can happen at any time, and it keeps my imagination active. As far as being read goes, I would be glad to read it, but some wouldn't read it even if you paid them. If you need a proof reader, just send an email and let me know, I'll be glad to help.

Fantasy is my favorite genre, so of course I would read fantasy. Well, it's a publisher's job to determine if something you write will sell or not and if it gets published, there's no doubt it'll get read.

Fantasy is not a favorite of mine. However, it's popular. In order to be read, writing has to be good and/or exciting in some way.

Personally, I prefer fiction and teen drama. I'm not much of a fantasy fan but that does not mean people will not read your book. People have various taste in literature and will read what they like. I'm sure a lot of people will read your book. I know plenty of people who like fantasies. Good luck with your writing!

I like short stories, novels, myths, and poems. Fantasy is one of the best kinds of novels, because you can really branch off with those, their the most interesting too. Like the Bartimeous Triology, Harry Potter, Into the Divide, there are so many really successful ones I couldn't name them all. I like writing fantasy stories my self too, since you can invent all sorts of stuff and the cause of it would be plasible not like a fiction novel.
