Yes, I have done that many times with the full knowledge I would not see it again. One can only do that so many times to you though before it gets old real quick.

For a friend my spare change is their spare change, in fact I tell them to keep it because I don't want to bother to track it down.

If Its dollars I just apologize and claim not to have it to spare.

If its a really close friend or family member in an emergency, and they really need the money I make the judgment call based on the circumstances. I may be willing to bail them out once every year or so, if they legitimately need it.

Nope, I always say, 'I don't have any money,' unless it's a best friend and we're at McDonald's or something. I give him $5, even though I know I'm never going to see the money again, even though he has a job.

Only if its family. We have gotten it back always. If you cant give to those whom you love You arent considered a kind hearted person. I look at it this way YOU cant take it with you when you die so why not make someone else happy. I know money dont grow on trees but its what you do with that money that will ease your mind.

I gave my sister $200. She said she would pay it back and I said absolutely not! She needed it and I said it was a gift.

I'm constantly giving out money (if I have it) to people on the streets. They seem to need it more than me. however when I feel like a coffee then I scrounging!! lol!
