My weed eater won't start. I prime it and it sputters for a minute and then dies. Could it have junk in the line? How do I fix it?

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like the spark plug - 2 cycle motors are rough on them, since its an oil mix - just take it to local autoparts and match up a replacement.

There is also a filter on the end of the fuel line inside the gas tank. Bend a hood in a piece of wire and fish it out. Make sure it is clean or replace it. Most likely it is the carburetor though. They are easy to rebuild and it will cost $10-12 for a rebuild kit. They are diaphram carbs and the diaphram streches with age and exposure to the gas/oil mix.

Sounds like a clogged gas line. Look on the outside of the motor for a clear tube (plastic) about 1/4" diameter. This is the fuel line. Take it off with a screwdriver and make sure it is not clogged. Put it back on after cleaning it and it should run fine! Good Luck

I wish I had greater acceptable information for you, besides the undeniable fact that it somewhat sounds like your motor has seized up on you. greater advantageous than probable he replaced into working the gasoline/air blend too lean. greater circumstances than no longer, you will finally end up procuring yet another weed eater.

If you leave gas in it over the winter you might gum up the tiny filter in the gas tank..
Plug is a good idea to replace ??$2.00???
But if you have a problem with the carburetor
take it to the shop..
