Are preseason games mandatory. If not, which teams do not play in the preseason?

They are not mandatory, but the teams schedule them because it is money that doesn't have to be shared with the rest of the league (same with playoffs, but that has to be earned).

The second reason they schedule them is because it allows the players to get into practice shape/game shape and to practice their new plays against players not expecting them.

All teams play some sort of pre-season schedule.

Teams don't have to charge admission either but they do.

All teams have presaeson.
