Which is better - an orange or a watermelon? It just depends on my mood. Morrison had some very deep thoughts (The End, etc.), but Cat Stevens had some good ones too (Father and Son). Just different styles.....
Neither one is better - the world of music is better because of both of them!

Cat Stevens is the best songwriter! Jim Morrison didn't even write "Light My Fire! Actually, fellow Door's member, Ray Manzarek, did !

Morrison, without a doubt. Didn't even have to think twice on this one. The two aren't even in the same category with each other. Too bad Morrison had to OD. What a shame, what a loss to the music world. It doesn't get any better than, Roadhouse Blues for me!

Jim Morrison wrote great lyrics and some wonderful poetry. His classic song, "The End" is a masterpiece of writing with deep psychological insight. He studied writers all his life and understood what motivated people's actions and thoughts.
