I think you are suffering from a serious case of Amnesia or Alzheimer's/dementia. Neither team exists anymore.

The Nordiques moved to Colorado in 1995 and the Jets moved to Phoenix in 1996.

It's 2007 now!!!

The Nordiques were in the East and therefore in the Wales Conference after the 1981 geographical alignment

The Jets were in the West, and therefore in the Campbell Conference after the 1981 geographical alignment.

The only way a Wales team and Campbell team would meet in the playoffs would be to meet in the Stanley Cup final.....and the Jets were barely good enough to make the playoffs in most years let alone make it all the way.

You're making this up. How can you be a big fan when you don't know the teams no longer exist or that when they did exist they were opposite NHL conferences so they could only have met in a final.

Mainly because neither franchise made it to the Stanley Cup finals against each other before they moved their respective franchises. Winnipeg was in the Campbell Conference and the Nordiques were in the other who's name escapes me at the moment. The only way they ever could have played against each other in those days would have been in the finals. Hope that clears it up for you.

Let's review:

Quebec Nordiques = Colorado Avalanche

Winnipeg Jets = Phoenix Coyotes (part-owned and coached by Wayne Gretzky)

If they meet in the playoffs, it would be in the Western Conference half of the playoffs.

Neither team can get past those pesky Kansas City Scouts. Perhaps this upcoming season will be the year.
