I dont mean to sound rude, but why wouldnt it be ?! You can do it yourself, just get rabbit nail clippers, and make sure you have some kwik powder to stop bleeding if you cut the nails too short. Since I dont feel comfortable trimming my rabbits nails, my vet does it for around $13. If you are talking about declawing a rabbit, you'll have a hard time finding a vet who will do it. Declawing a rabbit is different than declawing a cat, and it should NEVER be done.

You mean their nails? Sure. We had to cut our rabbit's nails, otherwise they'd get too long and break...then they'd bleed. Sad!

Just to warn you: they don't take the process well. ^^; Truly. What we did was have one person hold him with a towel over his head (covering their eyes calms them) while the other person attempted to cut the nails. NOTE: better to leave them a little long than to cut them too short! Careful, the rabbit WILL kick and scratch and squirm.

Oh happy days. ^.^; Ahh the memories come rushing back.

What would be illegal about it?

I breed rabbits and the Rex breed grow their nails faster than any other breed so I have to trim their nails. I use a human nail clipper and don't go down to the pink coloring or they will bleed and fight you to not ever have their nails clipped again. You can also use dog nail clippers.

using what you do is fine, i use a mixture or bunny nails clippers human nail clippers and dog nail clippers for mine but find the human ones are always easier to use although mine are god to use with the dog nail clippers your rabbit just need to be used to being handled more. i would suggest getting some quick stop from you pet shop its for dogs and cats primeraly but works just as well on all other animals.

Ummm...yes. Please do keep them trimmed, as they grow out just like a dog's or cat's nails.
