It's not (but I like it that way). I'm part of the growing number of American guys not circumcised (it used to be almost all circumcised in the 60s; and now it's as low as 14% in some states, for example).
If you're wondering about circumcision rates by region and years, you can check two links out. The first link is for USA statistics; it even goes in detail by years/decades and race, and much more. The second link is for the world (the USA is the last developed nation doing it to newborns in a significant scale). They don't look much different when hard anyways.

Got it circumcised three days after i was born. Better for blowjobs, no extra skin and less infection...girls would rather have the circumcised penis in their mouth rather than the one with too much skin
