Brake pads were wearing unevenly so we replaced them .........checked the e-brake and it's fine but the tire is locking up in drive but not in reverse. Any suggestions?

The rear shoes were replaced......there is nothing wrong with the front or passenger side brakes just the rear drivers side.

more than likely you need to replace the rear brake wheel cylinders as one of them is hanging up.

Front brakes are pads with rotors, the rear brakes are shoes with drums.
Replacing the front "pads" does nothing for the rear brakes.
You need to have the rear brakes serviced.

ADDED:
Well then, look on the inside of the wheel for evidence of a leak inside the brake drum.
Brake fluid will make the shoes "grab" under brakeing loads.

The only other thing I can think of is something broken in the differential and getting caught in the ring and pinion gears.

From what little info we have, I will take a stab. Your wheel cylinder is not working properly on one side. You should have checked out the cylinders when you did the brake job. Wheel cylinders are pretty cheap. Just replace both of them, clean everything up real good, adjust and bleed and it should be just like new.

possibly the return spring is not properly attached to the shoe on that side, take apart the brake assembly and check it against the working side

those trucks have brake shoes right not pads. you might have to replace all of the assembly. buy a break kit. sounds like the springs in there aren't releasing. or try spaying the springs with wd 40 or similar lube

If it didn't do it before the rear brake replacement but does after then you have your answer.

Improper installation.

If it is drum brakes the drum may be out of round , Take both of them and have them turned if they can not turn them run by and get a new set they are not that much, hope this helps, and it's not the tranny,

check your gearbox...maybe your drive gear is not good any more..or maybe there is some metal which come from your break gear on your gearbox..so the spin of your drive gear had braked..
