A lot of people seem to get upset if you suggest that being responsible for your actions and obeying the laws might be the mature and right way for people to live their lives. Are they against responsibility, maturity, or just things in general that they think might put restrictions on their live?

They want freedom without accountability.
Understanding that freedom is not free, but comes with responsibilities, and that each and everyone of us has to be accountable for the choices we make, does not make those who would rather make excuses, as well as point fingers at others to happy.

It is much easier to absolve than resolve, and we as a society allow this to happen all to often.
We will reap what we sow.

Of course.
There's SUCH an easy way around it - sin all you want, and then just repent and believe and you'll be forgiven.

Religions of nowadays offer you excuse and instant repair of bad stuff you did.
In the past, a man was his deeds. You broke the honour code and your reputation was destroyed, and you had to work up all from the bottom again, or be an outcast.
Then enter a priest: whatever you did, just believe and repent and you'll get a great big lollypop in the sky just like all the others that had lived virtuous lives.

I think its a more of a feeling of freedom lost in sense. Maybe the people who get upset feel as though they are losing the right to act a certain way or something...your guess is as good as mine is.

No one wants to be reminded that they've made bad choices (myself included!), but ultimately it is the right, and adult thing to do. I guess it just depends on your level of maturity and willingness to believe that we make our choices, no one does it for us. It's easier on the conscience, I suppose, to blame anyone, or anything else for our mistakes (family, friends, situations, society, etc.)-than admit we are just colossal *******!

I find that when people say "stay outta my bidness", they're really saying, "let me commit my crimes and leave me alone!"

Anyone else feel this way?
