Check with your local Salvation Army. The Army has lists of families that need help at Christmas.

Also, local malls have "Giving Trees" Customers take paper ornaments that have the sex, age and wishes of a client. For example Girl, 13 wants U2 CDs. You can pick ornaments that fit in with your interests and budget. These trees are usually in the malls by mid November. Churches put them up shortly after Thanksgiving.

Other organizations that can use help are: Good Neighbors and perhaps the county children's home.

I know where I live the mall has a salvation army christmas tree where you can go and adopt a child or family and buy gifts for them. They give basic information like girl or boy age and size of clothes.

Then the organization delivers the gifts to the kid or family.

Your doing a good thing and keep it up. More people should be like you!

Samaritan's Purse has a project at Christmastime. I think it's called "Operation Christmas Child".

Make a donation to a food bank or a local charity which provides food, clothing and shelter to homeless people.

I think most major cities have a Christmas toy drive.
