Good grief, I remember (captain crunch) my sons newt, the endless trips to the pet store to buy meal worms. The ordeal of making him wash his hands when handling it. The times I went in his room just to make sure it was in the aquarium with the scrren lid on. Then the enviroment should be moist, I think he misted the plant enviroment with water. I am not having great memories as a mother who is a clean freak, but the rest of the family has a fond memories. Ick, I was relieved when he crocked!

Salamanders and Newts have specific environmental needs. The humidity must be right and if they get to dried out then you have problems. The cost of feeding them can in time get a little pricey. If you "google" either newt or salamander then you will find adequate care sheets.
