You know when you live in farm country when......

you know what a "cattle guard" REALLY is.

This is true.
My friends had a get-together and invited some people from church that had just moved here from Boston. They gave the new friends specific directions to their house. It was getting late and they still had not arrived. The phone rang and it was them asking, "We must be lost, we passed a lane that looked like it might be where we were supposed to turn, but we didn't seen any cattle guard. Will we still see the cattle guard after dark -- I mean, will he still be out there? And, will he have a gun or anything?"

Are you the ones that bought my old house? LOL! You know you live in farm country when the neighbors cows walk up the steps on your deck and it takes 6 men to get her DOWN. (cows like going up, not coming down) Happened to us. We also had some llamas and a huge pig come over for a visit as well.
