This case is becoming more and more disturbing. Do you really think the portugese police would make such bold statements wihout having the evidence/back up to support their claims? They obvioulsy have more information which is confirming their theory. How could they leave knowing their daugther has still not been found, they had the funds to stay their for a very long time but it seems they got startled and jumped on the first plane to east midlands. IMO I beilive both parent have something to do with her missing and I only hope the portugese prosecutors have enough evidence to lock them up and keep them away from kids fo atleast 60 years.

There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of evidence linking anyone else to her disappearance, nothing, nada! Was she abducted by a phantom? On the other hand no body has ever been found, what could her parents have possibly done with her for her not to be found, they were on holiday so presumably did not know the area well enough to successfully hide a body. They say that blood was found in the car which was hired 25 days after her going missing but are we to believe during this time they had her body hidden in their apartment under the bed just waiting for the chance to drive out into the country in the dead of night and dispose of the body? On the other hand in 8 out of 10 cases where a child is killed a close relative is involved. Definitely one for Hercule Poirot I think!

At first, I did not think so. I have a daughter about the same age and felt a deep sense of loss on their behalf. It is terribly sad beyond all possible measure.
Consequently, this weekend, I have found myself thinking about emotions and reactions.
If I had lost my daughter, I would be inconsolable and devastated. Full stop. Compare Mrs McCann and Mrs Jones(?) in Liverpool after her son was killed; she was truly upset and utterly devastated. Has Madeline's mother cried like that ever? Openly in public? I 'm not so sure. There is something about both parents that now makes me suspicious. I feel even more sad as a result.

The same team of detectives were responsible for convicting a mother and uncle of murdering a girl three years ago. There was no body ever found and only forensics were used to prosecute. The Portugese Police seem incompetent to me. I think the McCanns are innocent of murder but guilty of stupidity.

They are completely guilty of leaving their children alone while they went out stuffing their faces with food and drink.
This therefore makes them implicit in whatever followed.
Isn't it interesting that before the last couple of days they vowed never to come home until they found their daughter, now as they are being put in the frame they are begging to get out of Portugal. Why is that then?

No way! The Portugal police just want rid of the problem and they see this as an easy option.
This country does some much for people moving here, but we get nothing back in return... Housing etc..
We need to get a back bone

I'd like to think they aren't guilty, but watching the news each night, it can't be ruled out. I only hope the Portugese police are doing a thorough job on this case, & aren't quick to make a false arrest(s) just to close this case.

I thought they were innocent in the beginning but now that I think of it..why would you leave a child alone in a hotel room or whatever it was in a country you're not even familiar with?
And now they found her blood in a rental car, yeah. They caught them red handed.

They're guilty for neglect for sure. (And for being middle class but that's something else!)
I think they're very strange, no emotion, she doesn't even look worried. I saw her with the pope, it looked almost staged.
I'm not sure about them, get a feeling there's something going on.
