Your mom has the baldness gene and if she passes it on to you , you will be bald, men don't have that gene in their dna Taking androgens, (Androgen is the generic term for any natural or synthetic compound, usually a steroid hormone, that stimulates or controls the development and maintenance of masculine characteristics in men,) you would have to know which one you were given. I get testosterone for chronic anemia, and my hair is doing just fine at 56. My brother is almost bald and he started going bald in his 30's. so there is no easy answer.

I would say that you could due to environmental factors and head nesting habits. Some people literally rub their hair out on pillows at night and some use shampoos that are damaging to the hair growth areas. And then there is drying of the scalp. So increased testosterone will not necessarily make you have more hair even with the "right genes".

Beta blockers can hardly produce balding. But you can grow bald either way, there are many factors implicated.

There is nothing on God's green earth that would ever drive me to any hormone whatsoever to do what you describe. If you want to be bald, then shave it! Don't take the risk to your health hormones will bring. It's simply not worth it!
