In English class, we were given an assignment. We have to write a speech about a topic which we feel passionate about. I'm not really "passionate" about anything. I don't play sports, instruments, etc. I only have a couple ideas. One is procrastination - I am horrible for that. Another is public speaking - I hate it.

If you think I should write about procrastination or public speaking, please provide some main points I should make.
Any ideas?

How about Public Speaking.

You can start out by saying... there is one thing that many folks fear, and that is Public Speaking.

You can get ideas about Public Speaking by visiting www.toastmasters.org website. This is an internally known speaking organization (well worth your time and investment)

Lay out your assignment this way.

Opening - Tell the audience what you are going to speak about

Body - List 3 points about why people fear public speaking

Conclusion - Wrap it up be stating again the fear people have of public speaking, and then tie in Toastmasters as a means for folks to overcome that fear.

Good Luck!

Write My Speech

Are there personal peeves you have? For example, when you go to the restroom, is the toilet seat as it should be? What about the toilet paper roll? Do you like the way it's turned? What about places that use paper towels that you're certain will require the reserection of Hudini to remove? Finally, a two-fold thing,: What about when the hand dryer doesn't work AND there are no towels--the bathroom paper is low as well. Secondly, don't you just love it when somoeone had to "do the WHOLE job," and someone in an establishment seemed to forget about the invention of room spray? Do a comment on all of that.

I think you could have something with either of these, but make sure you have a theme and not just a phrase. For example, your speech could be about how procrastination enhances your work, rather than makes it worse. You will have to be very creative with a speech about a topic like that.

How do you feel about certain emotional issues that kids can relate to, such as bullying or violence. Topics like that may be a little easier to work with, though they may be less original.

Do procrastination. Don't do a speech about publish speaking!
You could start out by defining the term. Tell why people do it and why people should not do it. Then give strategies to help people not procrastinate.
