I would like to replace the water in my plaster pool because I added something that cloulded it permanently. If the pool has a safety cover, is there a problem with filling it gradually with rainwater over the winter? I live in the NW with occasional freezing.

Leaving an inground pool empty for any amount of time is not a good idea. Ground water can cause them to "float" out of the ground.

Is it cement or liner? Liner might float. Cement shouldn't but could. With cement keep the level below the tiles so they don't crack from icing.
