Fear of the unknown. Being unsure.
I think those people weren't necesarily afraid of a ghost itself.. But more of the idea of one.

Because so many people believe in ghost and myths that have been examined go way back in time. You think twice after hearing some spooky history about that house. One time I was on-line looking into paranormal info and I came across a site by the name of ghostchatter.com. Check that site out and you'll be amazed because it's a no BS site and they'll tell you real life stories and you can get into a chatt room there too. It's a good experience whether you believe it or not.

I have never seen a ghost that i know of but there are too many strories from too many people from too many times and cultures to totally dismiss it. Personally i would not stay in a "haunted house" alone and am not in minority withn that view
On a more pragmatic note unles u were planning on a museam then would you want tthe tourists who will inevitably come to see ur place and what would it be like if u had to sell refinance at some point

You just get a feeling if it's a good house or not. And then think about selling it again - it will be problematic advertising it with all the ghost drama.

Surely if you dont believe in ghosts you wouldnt let it influence your decision of whether to buy or not.
I DO believe in ghosts, but i still would not use this to influence my decision. Apart from BRAND NEW buildings, every building has a history of life and death, so if you are a believer then EVERY house/workplace is haunted.

Well maybe there are things that happen that you just can't explain and instead of just telling yourself that it doesn't matter, just isn't enough. I would think that there would end up being more problems to deal with then by just buying a normal house. Who needs to have any more extra costs atop all the other costs of buying a house.

I found out the truth at the age of 13, about spirits. Yes they do exsist, and some can be totally devastating to people.
It would depend on the back ground of the spirit, before I would make any type of decision on buying.
Good friendly spirits yes I would buy in a heart beat.
Confrontational no way in hell, would I buy it.

A reputation of ghosts is a liability. When you buy real estate you must think about selling it someday. If I want to sell it I don't want to get asked about ghosts I just want to sell it.

I wish I had a hunted house. Unfortunately, mine is haunted, so nobody will buy it. Check your spelling dear, or I'll send my ghosts round.

That sounds crazy , Think of all the money you could make out of this phenomena, with advertising like that you could make a fortune out of some old property
