x^2 - 1/64

find out what can be squared to equal 64.
it is 8.
rewrite

x^2 - 1/8^2

since the 1/8 is a negative, you cannot say (x - 1/8)^2 because a negative times a negative is a positive.

so you must rewrite it using a positive and a negative.

(x-1/8)(x+1/8)

Don't forget to check your work. You always check your work to make sure you didn't make a mistake. Get you started doing that now and it will save you a lot of trouble later on.
Everyone had the right answer:
(x-1/8)(x + 1/8)
now you check it to make sure you didn't drop a sign or number somewhere:
You do this by multiplying back like this:

x - 1/8
x + 1/8
----------
x^2 - 1/8x
,,,,,,,+1/8x - 1/64
-----------------------
x^2 (+/-) 0 - 1/64

x^2 - 1/64
Get in the habit of always checking yourself. But your doing good to be smart enough to be taking Algebra this early in school.
