The Michigan Complied Laws does not contain any provisions prohibiting firecrackers on any day of the year regardless of the 4th of July. However, under Chapter 91, section 1, part (1), subdivision (y), your city may pass ordinances regulating firecrackers within the city.

Addition Details:
The Michigan Department of Community Health reported that, “Consumer fireworks are legal for public sale in 36 states and the District of Columbia.” To me, that sounds like many states do permit fireworks. The Michigan Attorney General stated, “In Michigan, certain fireworks are legal and the public may purchase them without a permit.” He also provided a non-inclusive list for examples of illegal fireworks. I much like Pat's rule of thumb, that if it leaves the ground or explodes to loudly then it is probably illegal. Please be aware that federal law bans firecrackers containing more than 50 milligrams of powder.

It depends on what's considered "firecrackers." In Michigan, anything that explodes or leaves the ground is illegal, period.

However, anyone living in Michigan knows full well that the law is seldom enforced. It's virtually impossible to do so, especially around the 4th of July. Police tend to look the other way, since bursts and explosions are so abundant.

Many so-called fireworks are available in Michigan, but they're along the lines of sparklers and things of that nature. And they can be used any time as far as I know.
