I've seen it with RPGs and stuff but I never really figured out what it meant. ^^;

Ok, I will take a stab at this... Fandom is a group of fans that find common ground or common interests. Panfadom was actually a website that has since closed: http://www.panfandom.com/

Fandom (from the noun fan and the affix -dom, as in kingdom, dukedom, etc.) is a term used to refer to a subculture composed of fans characterized by a feeling of sympathy and comradeship with others who share a common interest. A fandom can grow up centered around any area of human interest or activity. The subject of fan interest can be narrowly defined, focused on something like an individual celebrity; or wide, encompassing entire hobbies, genres or fashions.

PanFandom.com WAS a multi-fandom community for pop culture fans providing original content, up-to-the-minute news, message forums, a search directory of fan sites, and a wealth of other resources. Unlike other fansites that only cover a particular fandom, genre, or media format, PanFandom is devoted to bringing together fans of books, comics, movies, music and television all over the world in one central location.We cover and discuss:
24 • Alias • The Amazing Race • American Idol • The Bachelor • Everwood • The Gilmore Girls • Harry Potter • Jake 2.0 • Jossverse -- (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel and Firefly) • Lord of the Rings • Marvel Comics • Meta Fandom • Pop Fandom • Queer as Folk • Queer Eye for the Straight Guy • Six Feet Under • Smallville • Star Trek • Star Wars • Survivor • Tarzan • Tru Calling • Other Fandoms and more on the way! I could not find an actual dictionary definition for it but check out the search engine site below because several sites refer to the word and you may get the meaning from what they are talking about on their sites.
