Oh, gee-wiz...

Hmm...Well, I know songs that make me happy, but my friends say that theyre super disturbing, so does that still count?

For instance, 'House of 1000 Corpses' by Rob Zombie. My friend Em slept over one night and it was playing in my room while we were in the dining room on the computer (I know, how American, right? Im actually Canadian), and she went to my room to get something, and I could hear the song from the computer and it was at the part that was like, 'now youre lyin on the floor/yeeeeaaaaahhhh, ya cant take any more/the devils laughin in yo face/give me anotha taste, yeah!' and she came out and was like, 'Uhhm, I think someones being raped and murdered in your speakers, cause theres a woman screaming and a guy saying youre lying on the floor, and I dont know whats going on', so I had a good laugh. Another 'disturbing' song (like the Robert Zombert one, it makes me happy) is called Country Death Song by the Violent Femmes. Its basically about a father murdering his daughter and then committing suicide, all to an up-beat rythm laced with darkness. When people see my smile while listening to that song, they tend to just back off.

Now, songs that I find disturbing...I dont have any specific names, but basically anything about iPods or Xbox 360's being the only thing that can make your existance worthwhile, and songs about being stupid or basically things that go against what Marilyn Manson is trying to promote (be yourself, dont follow anyone, etc...). But even then Im more filled with a usually irrepressable rage towards these songs than I am with disturbance. I really am often filled with a strong desire to murder people who think so narrow-mindedly that they believe losing the use of their cell phone or iPod equals death. One of my most favorite philoshiphers of this time once said that a person is smart, but people are stupid. I believe this is true, as a person always has the potential to be smart (if not in academics, then at least in knowing not to follow the herd too closely), but they are then corrupted by people. My concept of people is basically that 'people' is a thing, but a person isnt. A person is something, and, as I just said, they are corrupted with a need to fit in with 'people', so they therefore adopt the theory that, 'oh, if I dont have the latest iPod or designer jeans, my life shall be ruined forever'. No. Moron, no. I would like to smash in those morons skulls.

...This post has traveled FAR from disturbing songs, but songs that basically embrace the concept of sameness disturb me on deep levels. But, as I said before, Im filled with more rage than disturbance towards them

Adams Song by blink 182 talks about suicide.

It touches you in a way that you cant let go. It makes you think about life and your family and emotions. People may call me emo for liking the song, but what they hey.

The song was written just perfectly

YES!!! "They're coming to take me away, Ha Haaa!" by Napoleon XIV (real name Jerry Samuels) from 1966.
The lyrics aren't that creepy alone, but coupled with the insane melody and the singer going, "Ha ha he he" all through the song just absolute freaks me out. Even today, when I hear it on an oldies station, I can't stand to listen to it.

Here are the lyrics:

That damn "small world" song from the Disney ride....

that or "dead babies" by Alice Cooper.

Actually a song about parental neglect, rather than a straight forward shock piece.

Little Betty ate a pound of aspirin
She got them from the shelf upon the wall
Betty's mommy wasn't there to save her
She didn't even hear her baby call
(Waaah!)

Dead babies can't take care of themselves
Dead babies can't take things off the shelf
Well we didn't want you anyway
Lalala-la, lalala-la, la la la

Daddy is an agrophile in Texas
Mommy's on the bottle most every night
Little Betty's sleeping in the graveyard
Living there in burgundy and white

Dead babies can't take care of themselves
Dead babies can't take things off the shelf
Well we didn't love you anyway
ma ma ma-ma, ma ma ma-ma, ma ma ma

Goodbye, Little Betty
Goodbye, Little Betty
So long, Little Betty
So long, Little Betty
Betty, so long

Dead babies can't take care of themselves
Dead babies can't take things off the shelf
Well we didn't need you anyway
ma ma ma-ma, ma ma ma ma-ma, ma ma ma

Goodbye, Little Betty

(Order in the court! Order in the court room!
Order! Order in the court! Order!...)
