Ie; Is she supporting Obama because he's black or because he's the best candidate for the job? As much as I admire Oprah she seems to be the crusader for all things 'black'. I get tired of her gushing over the accomplishments of her black guests.

I am not Oprah so I can't say for sure, but just from what I see, I do believe that maybe it is because he is black. I do not believe that he is the best person for the job. On the other hand, I do believe between Hillary and Obama that Hillary is the best of the two, and I am not supporting her because she is a woman and I am a woman, too. If those were my only two choices, I'd pick Hillary.

Honestly, I think that the general public will find that the best candidate will be Edwards because 1) he is not black; 2) he is not a woman; 3) he is not a philanderer; 4) he is not Morman, and 5) he was not a former television or movie star. And he's been through hell with the death of son and his wife's battle wtih cancer. People will symphathize with him!

As for Oprah, she does have a VERY strong influence on not only the black population but the female population, and if she is supporting Obama, I tend to think that her followers will choose Obama.

I know you didn't ask for this much jibberish in your question but when it comes to the Presidential election, my opinions tend to come out! Sorry! :)

Yes I do. I think most people are too star-struck to even realize how she uses her influence to boost anything or anyone black. Candidates come in all colors and sexual orientation. Voting or supporting any candidate for any other reason than they are the best person for the job is a form of discrimination! Good question.

Well who is to say? Obama is pretty smart and has a good head on his shoulders. Oprah may like him because they are the same skin color but we can't know for sure.

Yes this is true................but we don't really know for sure. It could be that she likes the opinions of that person, and believes in the same moral values as them, but they all just happen to be black !
Did she or did she not have CaucAsian people, asian people on the show ? YES. Because she supports all African American causes, doesn't mean she's racist. She just wants her race to better themselves, and strive in the community.

And I prefer the term African-American

What's wrong with being pro black? Obama is a bore, but that's another matter.
