I posted this link a few hours ago and many people thought it would be a good idea to re-post in order for others to read.
It annoys me to hear the hand-picked interviewees on TV saying that the PJ had no right to "plea bargain" I wish they would all read up on their Portuguese law before decrying the PJ.

You obviously don't appreciate this very informative article written by a Portuguese lawyer. It's a pity because you could have learnt a great deal.
No worries.

Thanks Red Chrome for your answer. People are very quick to shoot down and discredit the PJ but just because they are bound by secrecy laws doesn't mean they are incompetent.

Hello LULU. You know I really hope this question doesn't get removed .It would be a shame for other people to be denied the chance to read a serious article. It clarifies an awful lot.

I read this in another post, but thank you for the link.
I have a Portugese friend, and he agrees this is true.

Edit - re. the additional details about some people thinking the PJ are incompetent - it's not just the secrecy laws, but the fact they have been mislead from the beginning by the McCann pair and all their Mcfriends, in my opinion.

At last someone (you) sees the whole thing as I do.
In another 'question' about the McCann case I said this (quote):
"We are all forgetting something so important. The actions and decisions of the Portuguese police in the last 48 hours are 100% a result of the forensic test results provided by Birmingham. Portugal is not a third world country or a banana republic. Let's have some trust in them and their police. Media hysteria is again at work with thing like "PORTUGAL HAVE THIRD WORLD POLICE TACTICS" and "..THEY ARE TRYING TO FRAME THE MCCANNS..." Come on.. Are you surprise their Police are not saying anything and are refusing to feed press hysteria ? They did not invite that crime to be committed in their Portugal. Let them do their job. I just have this strong feeling that that their PJ-GNR police will solve the case. Just given them time and SPACE, for God's sake. They are, like us, a western country albeit with a slightly different but accepted as a fair legal system.
Finally don't forget that Kate's Portuguese lawyer advised her that ACCORDING TO EVIDENCE SHE MIGHT VERY WELL BE CHARGED !!!! Just because something is hard to believe it does not mean it is isn't true."

Great post, Little Weed! A bit of an eye opener - and I hope that someone sends it to Sky News. And, just a thought - it just might shut Phil "Motor Mouth" McCann's big gub! I cringe every time I hear that wummin speaking!!

Thanks for the link it definitely made the Portuguese law a lot clearer to me. The family are the ones leaking all this plea-bargaining information, which I found hard to believe but now I can say for sure it’s not factual concerning the Portuguese laws.

Thank you, this was very interesting, but I doubt the media will confront Gerry's sister with this, unfortunately.
I'd like to see that lying witch put back in her place.

Thanks for that, I thought it was a little strange about the "Offer"

There is much much more to this than anybody knows, but it will all come out soon.

I really do not understand why they have not been charged yet?
