Although it isn't the last book I've read, I'd like to disagree with the reviewer who thinks Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows sucks.

It's true it is an intense, serious book-not many lighthearted passages in this one-but with a wizard war going on, what do you expect?

In addition to the recurring themes of loyalty, friendship, goodness over and evil, and love being the strongest force of all, this book introduces the themes that people can change and that there is usually much more to what makes up a person than the small piece we know.

The characters stay true to themselves and show what they are really made of--both good and bad.

It ends exactly as it should, a great ending to a brilliant series. I only hope we have the chance to meet future generations of Hogwart's students.

The last book I finished was Memory In Death, by JD Robb. [What can I say-- the In Death series is a fun read.] I am currently reading Lamb (Christopher Moore)and The Traveler (John Twelve Hawks). I've been switching between the two so much that I haven't finished either! Both are very good...

*The Ghost*, another brilliant thriller from Robert Harris.

Due out in the UK on 4 Oct. It's great. An unassuming ghostwriter stumbles into the life of a recently retired PM who took the UK into an unwinnable and unpopular war in Iraq.

As RH told the *Guardian*, Adam Lang really isn't Tony Blair, but it's tantalisingly close – !

I just read The Aeneid of Virgil. It was the August Book of the Month at my book club. It's a difficult read, but it's a great story.

I finished Eragon on Thursday night and now I'm reading Eldest again, I want to have it all fresh in my head for when the 3rd book (Empire?) comes out. I can't wait I think Christopher Paolini is a great up and coming writer, who has a great future.
