My son left the mower outside and yes, it rained. When I went to start it up, it almost started but after it kept turning (for just a few short seconds), I turned the key off and tried it again. Nothing. Not a thing. I pulled the mower back, waited a few minutes and tried again. Same thing. After waiting a while longer - nothing at all is happening. I unplugged wires and plugged them back and I cleaned the air filter. I have no clue where the spark plug(s) is located. What could be wrong? Someone suggested that I jump start it but can I do that with a '00 Jeep Grand Cherokee and a mower battery? How do I do that? Thanks SO much for all your help! You all are great!!!

Try this: its possible the fuse for the ignition switch blew out - this is located in the small wire from the hot side of the starter solenoid ( where the battery connects to the solenoid) - it sends 12 volts to energize the ign switch.
Water couldve also gotten into the gas - try this: remove the aircleaner cover, dump a small capfull of gas into the carb opening and try starting it- it should.
If that dosent work, remove the spark plug ( on front of the motor - a large wire runs to the spark plug - sometimes theyre located close to the exhaust as well - depends on type of motor. ) - with the plug out, turn over the motor a few times and see if any water is in the combustion chamber. Spray a bit of wd/40 into the combustion chamber and that should help disapate any water ( itll burn the wd40) - replace the plug and try the capful of gas again. It should run.
if it doesnt next step is check the spark - remove the spark plug boot, put a metal paper clip into it, place it against the motor- and try turning the motor over- look for a blue spark. If it doesnt then its something either in the magneto, ign switch or that pesky fuse.
Im sure changing out that fuse will fix the issue. I dont suggest leaving a mower out in the rain - if anything, cover the motor with a large plastic bag.

leaving it out shouldn't have bothered it, sounds like your battery is dead, if it,s over a yr old time to replace it, yes the battery in the mower is the same as a car batt, 12 volt, and can be jumped, the spark pulg is located in the head, the thing with the fins,
