Other than that find a reputable coin/money dealer in your area and take it in and see what they say, don't sell it until you hear from several different people so you're sure no one is feeding you a line. Personally I don't think you'll be able to retire, but still pretty cool, right?

Gold certificate bills are worth face value to the public. That means it's still worth $50 and you can spend it like a fifty.

BUT, it's worth a lot more to a collector. If the bill's in good shape, a coin shop will buy it from you - it could be worth two or three times its face value.

You can check it out on e-bay to see if there is anyone that is like that one you have. Because if you end up taking it out to shop for your answer you will have an Idea as to what someone was asking for on e-bay or whatever the bid was at that time. what ever you do be careful there are not only scammers here on the internet there out in the world tooo.

very nice...there is no gold. Call any coin dealer he should be able to tell you the worth. My guess $57.
